Sahid Nugroho is a Moslem Javanese who was born in Yogyakarta under Gemini zodiac. He is the youngest son of Drs. H. Soebakdi Soesilowidagdo. Alike his late father,  he works as a  lecturer at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). Serving as a marketing lecturer since 1993, his  specializations are in Electronic Marketing and Consumer Behavior. He is now assigned as Chair, Department of Management,  Faculty of Economics & Business, UGM since 2011.

As a person, Sahid has a lot of hobbies such as vintage bicycle and motorcycle, photography, football, music, natural healing system, martial art, and collecting die-cast models of motorcycle, car, jetfighter.His favorite music are progressive rock (Genesis, Marillion, Rush, Dewa 19) , hard rock (Def Leppard, Van Hallen), gothic rock (Evanescence),  new wave (Sting, the Police, Duran-Duran), classical (Mozart, Beethoven & Tchaikovsky)  and Javanese gamelan. Blue and gray are his preferred colors.  Indonesian and Chinese foods are his favorite meals. He enjoys action, war, and documentary movies.
